‘Chelsea will regret it’ ‘Sign Aubameyang’ – Fans split over talk of Batshuayi and Lemar swap…

Chelsea fans are split over the reports that Michy Batshuayi could be used as a makeweight in a deal for Monaco’s Thomas Lemar once the transfer window reopens.

According to the Telegraph, the Belgian striker could be offered on loan to the Ligue 1 club as the Blues look to beat Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United to the signing of Lemar.

After looking odds-on to seal a move to the Emirates in the summer, the winger remained at the Stade Louis II after the club had sold Kylian Mbappe, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Benjamin Mendy.

Although the Blues have Alvaro Morata and Batshuayi as their two main strikers, they do have the option of using Eden Hazard in a ‘false nine’ position more regularly.

Despite Morata’s absence for the win over Huddersfield in midweek, Antonio Conte elected to start with Hazard ahead of Batshuayi.

Given Batshuayi’s current situation at the club, new Monaco sporting director Michael Emenalo could look to bring the 24-year-old to the south of France in a potential deal for Lemar.

Monaco were keen to sign the forward in the summer, yet Chelsea elected to keep him after Fernando Llorente sealed a move to Spurs.

As well as a deal for Batshuayi, fellow Belgian Charly Musonda could be another player used in an attempt to bring Lemar to west London.

Following the news of a possible loan move for Batshuayi, Chelsea fans have differing views on what the club should do.

Here’s what they’ve had to say.
