08.20: Steven Gerrard believes Antonio Conte will be back in the transfer window.

Conte wants to freshen things up in January after being frustrated in the summer.

And Liverpool hero Gerrard thinks he’ll get his wish.

“I think he will get the support that he wants and needs,” Gerrard told BT Sport.

“If he is saying to the people above that he needs one or two players, I am sure he will get them.”

Chelsea line up Zaha deal

07.45: Chelsea could make a January move for Crystal Palace ace Wilfried Zaha.

The Daily Mirror report that the Blues are interested in the Palace star.

Zaha has been in great form since Roy Hodgson took over at Palace, helping them out of the drop zone.

And Chelsea have taken notice and could make an approach in January as Antonio Conte looks for options in the transfer window.

Zaha spent an ill-fated two years at Manchester United before returning to Palace.

Luiz update

07.30: Chelsea are ready to sell David Luiz in January – with Juventus now among the runners for his signature.

Real Madrid are keen on a deal for the Chelsea outcast, but they face competition from Italy.

Luiz fell out with Antonio Conte during the Champions League games with Roma and has been dropped from his squad.

And his future looks uncertain with Andreas Christensen impressing in his place.

Carabao Cup team news

07.15: Antonio Conte will have to balance his desire to win a trophy with keeping his squad fresh for the Premier League.

Conte’s side are battling for a spot in the top four after ruling themselves out of the title race.

“I want to continue to give the chance to players that are not playing with regularity,” Conte told Chelsea TV.

“I want to continue this way, but at the same time we want to reach the semi-final.”
