CHELSEA defender David Luiz has become the club’s new barber, Eden Hazard has revealed on Instagram.
Chelsea defender David Luiz has found regular football hard to come by this season after falling out of favour with Antonio Conte.
However, Eden Hazard has revealed the Brazilian has picked up a new role at the club – becoming the resident barber at their Cobham training ground.
The Belgium international shared a photo of Luiz shaving him with a cut-throat razor on Instagram, along with the caption: “The new Cobham barber.
“You have to trust your family. Good job David Luiz but please my friends don’t try this at home.”
Last month it was revealed Chelsea had banned their regular barber Ahmed Alsanawi from their Cobham training ground.
It was claimed the hairdresser was in breach of the players’ image rights rules, using photos of them to promote his own business.
A source at the club told The Sun: “Photos, signed shirts and using the players’ images to promote his own business got too much.
“The players have image rights contracts and the club has sponsors who pay millions of pounds for image rights.”
But it looks like the Chelsea players are in safe hands with Luiz as their new barber.
And he could have to get used to his new role at the club as Conte revealed last month he has no intention of dropping Andreas Christensen anytime soon.
“Every game I have to try to make the best decision for the team,” he said.
“And if I’m taking this decision it means Christensen is deserving to play.”
Chelsea vs Atletico Madrid: Charlie Nicholas delivers Champions League prediction
ATLETICO MADRID will hold Chelsea to a draw tonight.
That’s the view of Sky Sports pundit Charlie Nicholas.
Chelsea host Atletico in their final Champions League group stage clash this evening.
A win for Antonio Conte’s men would secure top spot in Group C.
However, Nicholas is backing Atletico to spoil Chelsea’s party and get a point at Stamford Bridge.
“I think Chelsea found a lot of their confidence in that win at Atletico,” Nicholas told Sky Sports.
“Premier League sides have made some real statements in Europe this season, including Tottenham and Manchester City, and Chelsea’s win in Madrid was right up there.
“Roma are going to beat Qarabag so all Atletico really have is Diego Simeone’s hunger for revenge. They have picked their form up and have closed the gap on Barcelona.
“They are always stingy when they come to conceding goals, always ready for it when it comes to physical battles.
“Antoine Griezmann has also raised his game amid links to Manchester United and Chelsea, so I think it will be a tight affair. 1-1.”
Should Atletico hold Chelsea to a draw and Roma beat Qarabag, the Serie A giants will top the group ahead of the Blues.
Chelsea return to Premier League action this weekend when Conte’s men travel to West Ham on Saturday.
