Antonio Conte has challenged his Chelsea players to win their last game before Christmas by beating Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday lunchtime.
The Blues are currently gearing up for the Premier League clash after having booked their place in the semi-finals of the League Cup with a 2-1 win over Bournemouth on Wednesday night.
The west London side head into this weekend’s round of games in the Premier League in third place in the Premier League table and 14 points behind leaders Manchester City.
Chelsea will be aiming to try and get themselves back into the title race over the hectic festive period and hope that the likes of Manchester City slip up.
Conte’s men were 1-0 winners over Southampton in their most recent Premier League game last weekend and the Italian manager has warned his side that they are in for a stern test against Everton on Saturday afternoon.
Speaking at his news conference after Chelsea’s 2-1 win over Bournemouth, Conte said: “The Everton game is very important for us.
“It is the last game before Christmas and I would like to spend a good Christmas with a good win, but we know in the last five games Everton won four, so they are in good form.
“They have a really good squad and they have changed coach and are having good results. For this reason we must pay good attention on Saturday.
“It is not simple to play away against Everton but at the same time we want to try to do our best and get three points to continue our run in the league.”
Chelsea will take on Arsenal in the semi-finals of the League Cup after the draw was made this week.
The Blues are also preparing to take on Barcelona in the last 16 of the Champions League in February after they were made to pay the price for finishing second in their group.
