ANTONIO CONTE has discussed Alvaro Morata’s suspension and Willian’s fitness after Chelsea’s Carabao Cup win.
The Blues needed a last-gasp goal from the Spaniard to reach the semi-final of the competition.
Morata’s goal came straight from Chelsea’s kick-off after Dan Gosling netted for Bournemouth in added time.
The forward stuck the match ball up his top in homage to his pregnant wife and was then booked after leaving the pitch and engaging with fans behind the goal.
The booking is his fifth of the season, meaning he misses the clash with Everton on Saturday.
“I must be honest, I didn’t see it,” Conte said after the match.
“It’s a big loss for us, especially because we have to play a tough game against Everton.
“We have to accept.
“Tonight many players were booked.”
Chelsea’s first goal of the evening came from Willian.
And Conte went on to deny the Brazilian is suffering from a lack of match fitness.
“I am very happy for Willy because he scored,” he added.
“He had a good game with great commitment, same as Pedro.
“This is his third game in a row and when you play three games in seven days, usually you suffer in a physical aspect.
“For 60-65 minutes, Willian and Pedro gave us a lot of quality.
“I am happy for the performance of both.”
Chelsea will take on Arsenal in the Carabao Cup semi-final.
