Chelsea star Alvaro Morata has reportedly told manager Antonio Conte to sign a former Barcelona man.
Spanish media outlet Don Balon claims that Morata has advised his Italian manager to got and get former Barcelona striker Sandro Ramirez.
According to the report, Chelsea are looking to bring in a new forward in January as Conte is not convinced that the club’s current strike force is enough.
The former Juventus coach is not convinced by Michy Batshuayi, while Tammy Abraham is out on loan at Swansea City.
Conte tried to sign Llorente in the summer but was beaten to him by Chelsea’s London rivals Tottenham.
Ramirez, a good friend of Morata’s, joined Everton this past summer from Malaga for a reported fee of £5,2 million as the Toffees triggered his release clause.
Since then, Ramirez has featured 11 times for Everton across all competitions but is yet to score.
Victor Moses returns
The Nigerian wing-back has returned to outdoor training.
Chelsea has been dependent on Davide Zappacosta and Cesar Azpilicueta during Moses’ absence from the first-team. However the 26-year-old is continuing his path to recovery.
The experienced international has been injured since the Blues’ surprising 2-1 defeat to Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park in October.
Moses has also been nominated for the 2017 African footballer of the year award, and he demonstrated his significance to Conte last season, transforming from a make-shift defender to a seasoned wing-back as the Blues won their fifth Premier League title.
Throughout the entirety of his Chelsea career, the former Wigan player has amassed 88 appearances for the Premier League Champions, and he’s scored an impressive total of 15 goals.
The Nigerian has since taken to Twitter to update supporters on his progress. Scarcely has Conte had the full squad at his disposal this season. Here’s hoping that Moses is back on the pitch soon.
Chelsea plot January spending spree on three new signings – report
The Daily Mirror is reporting that the defending Premier League champions want to sign a centre-forward to help Michy Batshuayi provide cover for first-choice striker Alvaro Morata.
The same story states that the title holders are hoping to sign Everton midfielder Ross Barkley after the playmaker was linked with a move to Stamford Bridge in the summer.
According to the same article, Chelsea will also rekindle their interest in Brazil left-back Alex Sandro despite Juventus’ reluctance to sell the South American during the recent transfer window.
Chelsea parted company with technical director Michael Emenalo earlier this week in what was a clear sign that Conte is gaining more control of transfers at the west London club.
The defending champions were 1-0 winners against bitter rivals Manchester United in the Premier League last weekend thanks to Alvaro Morata’s 55th-minute winner.
Chelsea are looking to retain their top-flight crown and are hoping to win their third Premier League title in four seasons.
