Antonio Conte and Jose Mourinho had to be separated by Chelsea and Manchester United players in the tunnel at Stamford Bridge, reports in Spain are claiming.
The pair clashed on the touchline in the first-half of the FA Cup quarter-final clash, with Conte particularly unhappy with several robust challenges on Blues forward Eden Hazard.
Ander Herrera was eventually sent off by Michael Oliver in the 35th minute, following two fouls on Hazard, and it appears tensions spilled over into the tunnel at the break.
Marca suggest several players stepped in as the two managers continued to row at half-time before N’Golo Kante’s goal in the 51st minute which turned out to be the winner.
It’s believed Conte disliked the way in which Mourinho responded to his ‘cries and gestures’ as they made their may down the tunnel.
However, things between Mourinho and Conte will likely still be strained when United host Chelsea at Old Trafford on April 16.
Both teams will now turn their attentions back to the Europa League and Premier League respectively as they aim to win silverware this season.
