Official – Chelsea receive massive boost ahead of Manchester United FA Cup game

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been banned for three games by the FA for elbowing Tyrone Mings at Old Trafford during Manchester United’s 1-1 draw with Bournemouth on Saturday.

The 35-year-old striker was charged on Monday after the governing body took retrospective action against him and he will now miss the FA Cup quarter-final against Chelsea on Monday 13th March and Premier League meetings with Middlesbrough and West Brom.

The incident was not seen by match officials during the game but retrospective action has now been taken.

Mings was also charged after the first incident on Saturday, with the FA confirming on Monday the Cherries defender could face more than a standard three-match ban for violent conduct if the charge against him is upheld.
