Antonio Conte has confirmed that Eden Hazard is suffering from a calf problem.
Hazard, 26, was missing as Chelsea at least temporarily extended their lead at the top of the table to 13 points with a 2-1 win at Stoke yesterday.
And, speaking after the match, Conte revealed that the attacker pulled up in training on Friday.
He said: “Hazard in the last training felt a bit of a problem in his calf and for this reason I preferred not to risk him.”
It remains to be seen whether Hazard joins up with the Belgium squad for their upcoming games against Greece and Russia.
The former Lille star has returned to something near his best this season after a hugely disappointing 12 months in west London.
He has scored 11 goals and assisted five in 31 appearances across all competitions for the Blues this term.
