JOHN OBI MIKEL is in talks with two clubs over a January exit from Chelsea.
The Nigerian has been frozen out at Stamford Bridge by Antonio Conte.
Mikel hasn’t played once under the Italian this term – and he could be off in January.
The midfielder’s contract is up in the summer and is unlikely to be renewed.
And it’s now claimed Mikel is in talks with two clubs over a transfer next month.
European sides Marseille, Inter Milan and AC Milan have been linked with the player, but Own Goal Nigeria say there’s no chance he’ll stay on the continent.
Instead Mikel is reportedly in talks with Chinese powerhouse Shanghai SIPG and Al-Ain of the UAE.
Both can offer mega pay packets to tempt the Chelsea man away from the Premier League.
Mikel’s Blues pal Oscar is off to Shanghai next month and Own Goal Nigeria claim a source told them: “The picture will become clear in the coming days.
“But I know for a fact that if Al-Ain or Shanghai SIPG can raise their offer to around £200,000 a week, £30,000 more than what they offered him initially, the deal will be as good as done.
“He is in talks with Shanghai SIPG and Al-Ain of the UAE, they are the two clubs close to meeting his wage demands.
“No European team can pay him what he is demanding at the moment.”
Shanghai are managed by former Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas and along with the incoming Oscar have Brazilian striker Hulk on the books.
Joe Hart still on Blues radar
Chelsea are lining up a swoop for Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart as doubts continue to surround the future of Thibaut Courtois.
Hart is up for grabs after falling out of favour with new City boss Pep Guardiola and he is currently enjoying a season-long loan spell with Italian outfit Torino.
However a return to the Premier League could be on the cards with Chelsea as boss Antonio Conte is reported to have watched him in action on more than one occasion.
Conte is keeping tabs on the market as reports continue to suggest that Courtois will head to Real Madrid at some point, and Hart would be the ideal replacement.
Courtois is under contract until 2019 but unless he signs a new one there is a chance he could head to Real Madrid, with James Rodriguez possibly moving the other way.
If that is the case Conte will move for Hart and is willing to pay £20million to secure a deal for the England international.
Chelsea right back released by Grêmio six months before end of loan deal
Back in December 2012, Chelsea announced the acquisition of the young Brazilian right back from Fluminense, taking advantage of a priority clause established with the Brazilian side at the time of Deco’s transfer a few years prior.
However, the once impressive attacking full back wasn’t able to reproduce his performances from the Brazilian league during the two-and-a-half years he spent on loan at Inter Milan, Vitesse and Carpi from 2013 to 2015. So he tried something different this year, returning to Brazil on an 18-month loan move to Grêmio in January and…
…yet again, things didn’t quite pan out for the 22-year-old. With only 22 unimpressive appearances made for the Brazilian Cup-winners throughout the year, the player has been released from the club in the Brazilian off-season, six months before the end of his loan contract as confirmed by Grêmio’s president Romildo Bolzan Junior.
Wallace contract with the Blues lasts until June 2019. Wherever he goes next will be a good trivia question in the future.
