Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has refused to get involved in rumours that the West London club could be interested in prying away Alexis Sanchez from Premier League rivals Arsenal.
The Chile international is one of the Premier League’s most-devastating attackers and has been thriving at the Emirates Stadium this season in a centre forward role.
However, Sanchez’s contract is running down and he will be a free agent in 18 months, with the star man delaying an extension with Arsene Wenger’s side so far.
Despite Arsenal being keen to extend the South American’s stay in North London, it has been reported in the press that the former Barcelona star has delayed negotiations and will not commit.
This has led to a host of leading European teams being linked with Sanchez, including current Premier League leaders Chelsea.
Conte was asked at his press conference on Friday about the rumours linking the Stamford Bridge outfit with Arsenal’s leading man but opted to remain impartial.
“I don’t think it’s right to talk about players of other teams,” The Mirror quote the Italian coach as saying.
“Now we are totally focused on the next game.”
