BREAKING NEWS – Spaniard Set To Leave The Bridge On Permanent Transfer!

Remember Oriol Romeu? The midfielder who was a regular member of our side during the 2011-12 Premier League season under AVB and was touted as the next superstar? Well, things didn’t quite worked out for him at the Bridge after suffering that knee ligament injury!

After spending the last couple of season on loan to Valencia and Stuttgart respectively, Romeu seemingly failed to impress the Chelsea boss for a regular first team place. As it turns out, the Spaniard is on the verge of completing a permanent move to Southampton:

“Southampton are close to signing Oriol Romeu from Chelsea.

“The Spanish 23-year-old midfielder was this morning heading to Southampton for a medical after a fee was agreed between the two clubs for a permanent transfer. Southampton hope to complete the move later today.”

Chelsea signed Oriol Romeu for 5 Million Pounds in 2011. A product of Catalan academy, Romeu is a defensive midfielder who had a good time under Andre Villas-Boas.

After being deemed surplus to requirements, the Spaniard was sent on a couple of loans but that didn’t quite worked out as well as expected. Hopefully, the Spaniard can find some stability at st. Mary’s now, and replicate that form he showed with us in 2011!
