Rumour: Real Madrid attempt to sign Eden Hazard by offering £90m United target

If we are to look at Chelsea’ relentless charge towards the Premier League title this season, one definite name simply stands out from the rest.

While Jose Mourinho’s defense have played with great aplomb, Nemanja Matic and Cesc Fabregas have held fort in midfield as Diego Costa has scored for fun. Despite this, Eden Hazard seems to be on a roll.

The 24-year-old has scored 18 goals and grabbed 10 assists in 40 appearances this season and rightly won the PFA Premier League Player of the year earlier this week. The Belgian star has also played more key passes (88) than any other player in England’s top tier this season, making him such a vital cog in Chelsea’s wheel this campaign.

Real Madrid legend Zinedine Zidane recently spoke about Hazard amidst speculations that the Bernabeu side are interested in the winger. Mourinho though was quick to squash any such claims relating his former club. The Mirror quoted the Blues’ boss claiming:

“Put a figure on him? £100m plus one of their three best players. Or £100m each leg, because he’s very young.”

Mourinho is also sure that no deal will happen behind his back:

“I am not worried. If they want him I think I would be the first one to know, because my relationship with the president and the CEO doesn’t give space for something to happen behind me. If they want him, they get on the telephone and they call me. It’s the way I feel about President Florentino Perez and Jose Angel Sanchez.”

101 Great Goals though have cited reports from the Sun claiming that the Madrid side are considering a swap by offering Gareth Bale for Hazard. The Tabloid’s desperate attempt to convince its readers is at best laughable. Hazard recently signed a new five and a half year deal at Stamford Bridge and will not be prized away easily despite the best efforts of the Galacticos.

Sun Hazard
The Sun double down on their swap story claim by revealing that Real Madrid have “already been in touch” with Chelsea to discuss Hazard’s availability.

Moreover, Bale has been linked with Manchester United and this is the first time we are hearing that Bale could move to London after his move from Tottenham a season earlier. There is no doubt that Hazard will get linked to the Spanish giants thanks to his incredible season but as of now it’s nothing but insane media speculations which are on soft grounds.
