Four Reasons Why Andre Schurrle Will be a Key Player in Season 2014-15

It was Michael Ballack’s farewell match in Leipzig(Germany), and Jose Mourinho was the guest manager of the World Select team. Andre Schurrle, then a Bayer Leverkusen player, was in the team.

Before the match, Jose Mourinho met Schurrle, shook his hand and said:

“Everything has gone through, and you are my player.”
Of course, Mourinho was talking about his transfer to Chelsea.

“That was a wonderful feeling,” Schurrle said of the meeting.

Rudi Voller, the director of sport of Bayer Leverkusen, had earlier travelled to London to hold talks about the transfer. On 13 June 2013, Chelsea confirmed via their official website that an agreement had been reached with a fee believed to be in the region of 18 million pounds and on 25 June the transfer was officially completed. He was given a five-year contract and the number 14 shirt. Since then he has gone on to score nine league goals from 32 appearances.
