Chelsea vs Bolton: Key Player Battles

Jose Mourinho’s side kick starts their Capital One Cup campaign against the struggling Bolton Wanderers, who visit the Stamford Bridge on Wednesday, and the omens do not bode well for the Championship side.

Dougie Freedman’s side had a horrible start to this years championship campaign losing five games, having kept only one clean sheet in that time. With just one win so far the odds aren’t on their side and the only real positive for them would be League Cup Trophy is lower down the pecking order for Jose Mourinho which would mean a rest to the key players for the blues on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Chelsea sits atop of the Premier League without losing a game in the process. Even the second string Chelsea team has the experience and Talent making them a favorite against the Trotters. Needless to say, a comfortable Chelsea win is expected on Wednesday.

If we look at the history between these two teams the Trotters have emerged victorious from just three of the 26 Premier League encounters with Chelsea and are without a victory from their last 18 meetings with the blues, their last win having come at the Bridge way back in 2003.

If Bolton wants to take something out of this game, they have to be on their heels with a need for the players to step up their game. Chelsea vs Bolton: Key Player Battles of both the team that may influence the outcome of this match:
