Secrets out: Ruben Loftus-Cheek lifts the lid on all the Chelsea Star

Chelsea starlet Ruben Loftus-Cheek has revealed all about his team-mates, describing Andreas Christensen as his ‘partner in crime’.

Loftus-Cheek and Christensen have a strong connection having played together for Chelsea at youth level before they both broke into the senior squad.

Meanwhile, Loftus-Cheek labelled centre-back Antonio Rudiger as the joker in Chelsea’s changing room.

As reported by the club’s official website, when asked who he sits next to on away trips, Loftus-Cheek said: ‘I sit with Andreas Christensen because we’ve known each other for a long time. He normally watches a series, but I’m not watching anything in particular at the moment so I just play some games on my phone or listen to music.’

Loftus-Cheek also revealed that he often sits next to Christensen at lunch and reflected on first seeing the defender play.

He said: ‘Usually Andreas, he’s my partner in crime. I’ve played with him since we were about 16. I remember when I first saw him play, he made it look so easy. He’s so talented.’

Asked who the dressing room joker is, Loftus-Cheek had no hesitation in naming Rudiger.

Loftus-Cheek said: ‘Rudiger. He loves to talk but he’s a very funny guy.’

Also in the interview Loftus-Cheek praised summer signing Jorginho, remarking that the Italy international, who was born in Brazil, has learnt English very quickly.

When asked which Chelsea player took the longest to learn English, Loftus -Cheek said: ‘I’m not sure about the longest but Jorginho already speaks it very well. He was good as soon as he arrived, but now he’s even picked up the slang as well.’

Loftus-Cheek also had positive words for Cesar Azpilicueta, with the Spaniard often raising morale after a defeat.

He said: ‘Cesar Azpilicueta always has something positive to say in the dressing room, whether we’ve won or lost. After a defeat he will tell us to keep our chins up and move on to the next game, so that’s always good.’

The Chelsea squad certainly seems unified at present, with Maurizio Sarri’s team having won all four of their Premier League games so far this season.

Chelsea will be aiming to secure another victory on Saturday when they host Cardiff.
