Liverpool star outlines his plans to stop ‘special’ Chelsea winger Eden Hazard

Andrew Robertson has praised Chelsea star Eden Hazard as ‘special’ ahead of the prospect of the Liverpool defender having to face the winger three times this month.

The 24-year-old has been named captain of the Scotland national team and they take on Belgium today in a friendly, while Chelsea then play Liverpool in both the Carabao Cup and the Premier League in the coming weeks.

Hazard remains to be the massive threat for the Blues going forward, however Robertson has started to become one of the best left-backs in the Premier League at the moment and Robertson is keen to make sure Hazard stays quiet over those three matches

“He is probably in the top five [players in the world] at the minute. I have come up against him many times so I know what threat he can have,” he told Sky Sports.

“Even if he is having a quiet game, he can pop up at any point and turn a game. That is what we are up against.

“He is special. The way he turns and gets at players and commits two or three defenders, there’s not many that have that.

“He has been unbelievable for Chelsea and Belgium and it is somebody that we need to watch.

“The problem with Belgium is, you can’t focus on just Hazard because somebody else pops up. We have to be aware of all of their threats.

“We will be ready for them and do our best to stop them but we must cause them problems going the other way as well.”
