Liverpool have made contact with Adrien Rabiot’s agent about the Frenchman joining the Reds on a free transfer next summer, according to a report from EPSN FC.
The Frenchman is set to be out of contract at the end of the current campaign and as such, he can sign a pre-contract agreement with any club outside of France from January.
Liverpool are seemingly pushing hard to get the 23-year-old to commit to a move to Anfield and Chelsea should be doing exactly the same.
The Blues could do with additions in midfield as the futures of some of the current squad members remain up in the air. There is no guarantee that Mateo Kovacic will join Chelsea permanently, whilst the likes of Cesc Fabregas and Danny Drinkwater could be moved on.
Rabiot has made no secret of his desire to play in England and whilst Liverpool appears to be his preferred destination, Chelsea have a history of hijacking moves of players to other Premier League teams and they should, in my opinion, do the same again to get Rabiot.
