Chelsea transfer news: Fans ‘welcome’ Mateo Kovacic as Real Madrid star undergoes medical

CHELSEA fans are very excited about the prospect of Mateo Kovacic playing at Stamford Bridge, as the Croatian looks set to seal a loan move from Real Madrid.

The 24-year-old is believed to have landed in London this morning ahead of his physical examination by the Blues, according to Sky Sports.

He could be a Chelsea player by the end of the day – with Thibaut Courtois thought to be moving in the opposite direction for around £38m.

Boss Maurizio Sarri has targeted the World Cup runner-up as he starts to overhaul the squad he inherited from Antonio Conte.

And Chelsea fans think the deal is already finalised, as they upload videos to YouTube welcoming the midfielder.

One clip posted yesterday has racked up more than 60,000 hits already.

It shows the youngster’s impressive dribbling skills while also complimenting his range of passing ability.

And fans were quick to share their thoughts.

“This is so exciting,” one revealed.

Another added: “Welcome to Chelsea, the best club in the world.”

And a third claimed: “This is actually a perfect deal because Kovacic will get a lot of playing time at Chelsea without him actually leaving Real Madrid permanently.”

Premier League clubs have until 5pm tomorrow to finalise any incoming transfers.

Sarri will then have less than 48 hours to decide on his best team before their trip to Huddersfield on Saturday.
