Barcelona are willing to offer Andre Gomes in a deal to sign Chelsea star N’Golo Kante this summer.
Sky in Italy claim Barca have tabled the cash-plus-player offer, with the Spanish giants awaiting a response.
Chelsea are keen to keep hold of Kante, who has been instrumental following his move to Stamford Bridge in 2016.
Gomes is expected to leave Barca this summer after struggling to impress during his time at the Nou Camp.
The 24-year-old is not part of Barca’s squad heading to America for their pre-season tour.
Chelsea have held talks to sign Juventus star Gonzalo Higuain.
The Daily Mail say Higuain is one of Maurizio Sarri’s top targets this summer.
Any deal would likely include Alvaro Morata heading back to Serie A.
Morata would lower Juve’s £53m asking price for Argentina striker Higuain.
Three deals eyed
Chelsea are desperate to sign three stars to back new boss Maurizio Sarri.
The Blues have already identified transfer targets and are in talks with Juventus over central defender Daniele Rugani having made a bid of £30m.
Maurizio Sarri flew into London yesterday to complete the final details on a £6.5million a year two-year deal which will see Gianfranco Zola join as his assistant.
Sarri succeeds Antonio Conte, who was sacked on Thursday – but the club now face a tough legal battle with the former Italy boss.
When Conte was axed on Thursday by chairman Bruce Buck, according to sources in Italy, he was told he would receive no lump sum due to “a series of irregular behaviours”.
His controversial dumping of Diego Costa via text last summer is thought to be the key issue, with the club claiming that action reduced the value of the player.
