Chelsea player responds when asked if he wants to join Tottenham on Twitter

Spanish midfielder Fabregas has turned out for Arsenal and Chelsea, but not Spurs.

Chelsea playmaker Cesc Fabregas has ruined Tottenham Hotspur on Twitter after a fan asked the Spanish star to join Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

Chelsea only managed to finish in fifth place in the Premier League, meaning they have qualified only for the Europa League rather than the Champions League.

Fabregas, 31, posted a cheeky Tweet after the Europa League’s official Twitter account followed the former Barcelona star, uploading a screenshot and captioning the Tweet with: “It took them 15 years but finally I allowed them to follow me.”

A Spurs fan replied to the former Arsenal star by asking the midfielder – who is currently working with BBC Sport as a pundit for the World Cup – if he wanted to join a “big club” like Tottenham, after they qualified for the Champions League.

But Fabregas’ reply will have warmed the hearts of Chelsea fans, as well as ruining Spurs on Twitter, by replying in nno uncertain terms “no way”.

Fabregas proved to be one of Chelsea’s main creative sources once again throughout 2017-18, laying on nine goals in his 49 league and cup outings. However, his form was not enough to earn a place in Spain’s World Cup squad.

It remains to be seen where the midfielder’s long-term future will be, with only 12 months remaining on his contract at Stamford Bridge.
