Thibaut Courtois’ agent has made contact with Real Madrid about a possible transfer for the Chelsea FC goalkeeper, according to reports in the Spanish media.
Spanish newspaper Marca, as quoted by Metro, is reporting that the goalkeeper’s agent has spoken to Real Madrid about the possibility of Courtois moving to the Bernabeu this summer.
The same story says that Courtois is currently stalling on signing a new contract at Chelsea FC, with his current deal set to expire at the end of next season.
Chelsea FC are unlikely to be willing to let Courtois run down his contract and risk losing the shot-stopper on a free transfer next summer.
The same article says that Courtois’ agent Christophe Henrotay has been in contact with Real Madrid and has given the Spanish side the green light to make a move for the goalkeeper.
Meanwhile, Chelsea FC are yet to make a single new signing this summer after having finished in fifth place in the Premier League last term.
The west London side will have to make do without Champions League football next season after they missed out on qualification following a disappointing campaign last term.
However, they did end up winning the FA Cup last term to end the season on a high.
