Chelsea FC open £200,000 contract talks with 27-year-old midfielder – report

Chelsea FC has opened negotiations with N’Golo Kante about a potential £200,000-a-week contract, according to a report in England.

The Daily Express is reporting that the France international still has three years left to run on his current deal with the west London side.

The same article states that Chelsea FC wants to tie down Kante to a new five-year contract to end speculation surrounding the defensive midfielder’s future.

Kante has been linked with a potential move to Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain in recent months after the Blues missed out on a top-four spot the last term.

According to the same story, PSG is facing competition from Serie A title winners Juventus to sign the 27-year-old from FA Cup winner Chelsea FC this summer.

However, the Italian champions could struggle to find the cash to fund a move to sign Kante given the addition of Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid on Tuesday evening.

Chelsea FC finished in fifth place behind Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool FC last season despite the French midfielder’s best efforts.

Kante won the Premier League title in successive seasons with Leicester City and Chelsea FC to leave his mark on the English top flight.

‘Horrible news’ – Plenty of Chelsea fans aren’t happy about 25-year-old’s injury news

It’s been a frustrating few years for Marco van Ginkel at Chelsea, and it’s fair to say that the latest update with regards to him has not gone down well amongst fans.

Van Ginkel moved to Chelsea from Vitesse back in 2013, and he looked good initially. Known for his excellent energy and tackling, he looked set to be a fantastic asset in the middle of the park for the club.

However, a cruel injury quickly brought his first campaign to a close, and he hasn’t really been able to recover.

He has since been on loan to Milan, Stoke City and PSV Eindhoven, and last season was undoubtedly a highlight for him as he enjoyed his best campaign in years.

However, that comeback has been brought to a premature conclusion, with Chelsea confirming that he’s set to miss 8 months worth of action after suffering a knee injury.

That, naturally, leaves him in a very tough spot, and it’s fair to say that plenty of Chelsea supporters online are frustrated, to say the least.
