Antonio Conte’s brother has hinted that the Italian boss will be staying at Chelsea for the 2018/19 season.
Maurizio Sarri has long been expected to replace Conte in the Stamford Bridge hotseat after Chelsea failed to qualify for the Champions League last season.
But issues with Conte’s contract have turned the managerial situation one of the long-running sagas of the summer.
But Conte appears to have been pictured at Cobham in next season’s tracksuit alongside his fellow coaching staff in a picture that was uploaded on his brother Daniele’s Instagram page.
Daniele, 46, works as one of the assistant coaches in a largely Italian off-field team.
He wrote: “Come on Chelsea Come on Team Conte!!! Chelsea 2018/19.”
The whole team had big smiles on their faces at the training base as they look ahead to the new season.
There were mixed responses on social media with one person commenting: “Finally some good news coming out of the club. This pic made my day.”
While another wrote: “This doesn’t mean anything, they have to turn up under contract.”
It is still expected that former Napoli manager Sarri is to take over as manager.
Chelsea’s players returned to training at Cobham on Saturday and were put through their paces by the fitness coaches.
It did not appear that a ball was touched in the session, with the players present generally just taking part in gym exercises.
Alvaro Morata, David Luiz and Cesc Fabregas were among those who returned, having played no part in the summer’s World Cup.
Ross Barkley, Marcos Alonso and Pedro were also present for the first session.
