Tottenham Hotspur has made a £15m bid to sign Aston Villa playmaker Jack Grealish ahead of Chelsea FC, according to a report in England.
Sky Sports News is reporting that Spurs have launched a bid to sign the promising Aston Villa starlet in the summer transfer window.
The same article states that Tottenham has put together an initial offer of £15m in the hope the Championship side will accept the offer to ease their financial crisis.
According to a report in the British media on Tuesday evening, Chelsea FC was set to make a £30m offer to sign Grealish to bolster their options in the middle of the park.
The 22-year-old scored five goals in 39 games in the Championship last season as Aston Villa missed out on promotion to the Premier League following a loss to Fulham in the playoff finals.
Grealish has three years of experience in the Premier League before the Birmingham side were demoted to the second tier of English football in 2016.
The playmaker has been a controversial figure on and off the pitch in the early stages of his Villa career.
Grealish initially played for the Republic of Ireland Under-21 side before he switched allegiances to England following months of speculation.
Reporter claims Chelsea FC could reach agreement with Liverpool FC for 26-year-old
Chelsea FC could do business with Liverpool FC over the potential sale of Thibaut Courtois, Vinny O’Connor has claimed.
Liverpool FC has been consistently linked with a potential move to sign AS Roma goalkeeper Alisson Becker this summer.
However, the Rome outfit is thought to be reluctant to sell the Brazil international in the current transfer window.
Indeed, AS Roma are demanding in excess of £80m for the South American shot-stopper, who started his career at Brazilian side Internacional.
As a result, Liverpool FC could be forced to look at other options in the summer transfer window if AS Roma refuse to sell Alisson.
Courtois has 12 months left on his current deal at the west London side and has reportedly set his sights on a move to Real Madrid.
However, Los Blancos are thought to be keen on AS Roma’s Alisson if Real Madrid can’t sign Manchester United number one David De Gea.
Courtois could be forced to look at an alternative destination with some reports suggesting a Liverpool FC bid could be on the cards.
Sky Sports News reporter O’Connor hinted that Courtois could move to Liverpool FC if Chelsea FC is willing to strike a deal.
“This is an interesting one. He is linked with Real Madrid,” O’Connor told the Transfer Talk podcast.
“Chelsea are looking to get a fee for him before he is out of contract. If Alisson going to Real Madrid, would Liverpool look at Courtois?
“It’s whether Chelsea would look to do business with Liverpool.”
