Chelsea’s Granovskaia’s meeting with Conte agent revealed, two ‘walls’ in Sarri’s way

Antonio Conte, despite all of the stories sending him far away from Stamford Bridge towards the end of the season, remains Chelsea’s manager for the time being.

The amount of money Roman Abramovich would have to give him in his severance package remains the primary reason for this, but the Blues are working towards getting it all sorted so that Maurizio Sarri can take over as soon as possible.

This is, in essence, what Il Mattino were reporting on Tuesday, revealing Marina Granovskaia held a meeting on Monday with Conte’s agents, with €10m in wages and a series of bonuses linked to next season’s performances being discussed.

That’s why, according to the Italian newspaper, the private jet expected to take Sarri to London remains firmly on the airport strip for the time being.

Down Napoli’s end, Aurelio de Laurentiis remains adamant he wants money from Chelsea in order for them to appoint his former manager.

These are the two ‘walls’ currently standing in Sarri’s way, and until they’re torn down, he will remain at home, getting paid by his ex-club on a contract technically keeping him there until 2020.

Chelsea target’s boss pleads with player to not join Blues

Carlo Ancelotti reportedly wants to keep Chelsea target Raul Albiol at Napoli according to reports in Italy.

TuttoNapoli report that Ancelotti feels that Albiol is indispensable for Napoli telling the player by phone that he wants the player to stay in Italy.

This comes with Albiol’s former boss Marrizio Sarri being heavily linked with a move to Chelsea, with a reunion with his former boss a very real prospect.

Albiol is reportedly settled in Naples, with his family now reluctant to move elsewhere. Valencia are reportedly interested along with Chelsea, however, the Italian has not yet decided on his future.

Albiol has reportedly given himself three to four more days to make his decision, with representitves of Sarri making contact with the Spaniard over a potential switch to England with Chelsea.

Albiol joined Napoli in 2013 from Real Madrid, and has made over 200 appearances in all competitions for the Neapolitan side.

  1. I think Conte still the remains the best choice just a matter of changing his football play formation to suite all the players and some addition of players in attacking midfield and a serious striker so that they play attacking football.
