Chelsea FC want goalkeeper linked with Liverpool after ending talks with Courtois – report

Chelsea FC will make an offer to sign AS Roma goalkeeper Alisson Becker after the Blues ended contract talks with Thibaut Courtois, according to a report in England.

Sky Sports is reporting that the west London side has grown frustrated with their protracted negotiations with the Belgium international.

The same article states that Chelsea FC has decided to stop talks with the Belgium international and will look at potential options to replace Courtois.

According to the same story, the Blues are ready to rival Liverpool FC for the signing of Brazil international Alisson in the current transfer window.

AS Roma are reluctant to sell the South American shot-stopper given his rising status as one of the world’s best goalkeepers.

The Italian giants are thought to be ready to demand in excess of £80m for the 25-year-old goalkeeper in the summer transfer window.

The Blues finished in fifth place in the Premier League table last season to miss out on a spot in the Champions League for the second time in three seasons.

However, Chelsea FC were 1-0 winners against Manchester United in the FA Cup final at Wembley thanks to Eden Hazard’s first-half penalty.

Guillem Balague gives latest Chelsea FC update on Antonio Conte future

Guillem Balague has claimed that Chelsea FC could stick with Antonio Conte in the 2018-19 Premier League campaign.

The Blues manager has been tipped to leave the west London side at the end of the season following a difficult second campaign for the Italian head coach.

Conte led Chelsea FC to the Premier League title with two games to spare last season after the Blues finished seven points ahead of Tottenham Hotspur.

The west London side finished in fifth place in the Premier League table this season to miss out on a spot in the Champions League.

Chelsea FC has been linked with former FC Barcelona manager Luis Enrique, Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri and Atletico Madrid boss Atletico Madrid to cast further doubt on Conte’s future at Stamford Bridge.

La Liga expert Balague provided an update on Conte’s future at the west London side.

“Right now Conte is in a stand-off situation with Chelsea because Chelsea doesn’t want to pay off completely what Conte wants to be paid off,” Balague told Sky Sports News.

“That situation may even mean he stays at Chelsea, we will see.”

Chelsea FC were 1-0 winners against Manchester United in the FA Cup final at Wembley after Eden Hazard’s first-half winner.

The Blues manager was previously in charge of Juventus and won three Serie A titles with the Turin outfit.

Chelsea FC lost 3-0 to Newcastle United at St James’ Park in what could still prove to be Conte’s final game in charge.
