Mohamed Salah has been one of the players of the season in the Premier League and could be set to make his return to Stamford Bridge to take on Chelsea this Sunday.
With 31 league goals to his name, there is no doubt that the Egyptian can be considered as one of the deadliest marksman during the campaign, however the Blues defence might just get lucky this weekend.
The 25-year-old is facing a potential three-match ban which could see him miss the game on Sunday and prematurely end his 2017/18 domestic campaign for the Reds.
The FA are reportedly looking into an incident during Liverpool’s 0-0 draw with Stoke City last Saturday, where it appeared that the PFA Player of the Year lashed out at Potters defender Bruno Martins Indi.
The incident was missed by referee Andre Marriner and his team on the day, which means that if it is not included in his report then he could be retrospectively banned if found guilty of violent conduct.
Liverpool are also set to be without their assistant manager, Zeljko Buvac, as the Liverpool Echo report that he will not be by Jurgen Klopp’s side for the rest of the campaign due to personal reasons.
If Salah is able to make his return to Stamford Bridge then it would be interesting to see what reaction he gets from the Chelsea fans.
DAVID LUIZ LINKED WITH A RETURN TO LIGUE 1
The charismatic Brazilian has been linked with a potential move to AS Monaco.
According to Goal, AS Monaco are keen to sign David Luiz and they’re currently monitoring his situation.
Despite his injury concerns – that have sidelined him for several games – Conte has been reluctant to use Luiz when available, intensifying claims that the Brazilian could depart the club in the summer transfer window.
The defender – who is valued at £25.2M by transfermarkt – has registered 17 appearances for the Blues this season, scoring two goals.
Despite recently turning 31-years-old, Luiz still retains the quality and the experience to make a significant contribution to the current Chelsea team.
It is believed that Luiz fell out with Conte in October following Chelsea’s Champions League games against AS Roma, and the Brazilian is poised to wait and see if the Italian departs the Blues, before planning his future.
