Massimiliano Allegri insists he is ‘happy’ at Juventus and is in ‘harmony’ with the Italian club amid speculation linking him with a move to the Premier League.
The 50-year-old is one of the most respected and highly-rated coaches in Europe – both Chelsea and Arsenal are reportedly monitoring his situation in Turin.
Chelsea, who won the title last season, are searching for their next manager with Antonio Conte almost certain to leave Stamford Bridge at the end of the season.
The Blues battled back from 2-0 down to beat Southampton 3-2 on Saturday but Conte has cut a frustrated figure this year and is expected to return to his native Italy.
Arsenal may also appoint a new manager as Arsene Wenger’s lengthy reign draws to its end – the Gunners are sixth but into the semi-finals of the Europa League.
English clubs may find it difficult to strike a deal with Allegri, however, who has reiterated his commitment to Serie A champions Juventus.
‘I have a contract until 2020 and I am happy here. I am in harmony with the club,’ he told Mediaset Premium. ‘I go on vacation when the transfer window opens because I trust the club completely.
‘We still need to meet some objectives. If we don’t win the Scudetto and Coppa Italia they might not still want me. We’ll talk it over the way we always do, every year. There’s no difference.’
With six games of the Italian season remaining, Juventus are on the verge of another convincing title triumph.
They defeated Sampdoria 3-0 on Sunday to move six points clear as they bounced back from their Champions League exit in midweek.
Robert Lewandowski’s agent pushing for the summer switch to Chelsea
Chelsea is reportedly in the running to sign Poland international striker Robert Lewandowski, according to the Daily Star.
The Premier League side, who came from two goals down to defeat Southampton 3-2 at St Mary’s Stadium on Saturday afternoon, has been linked with a mega-money move for the FC Bayern Munich hitman this summer.
The 29-year-old, who has 93 international caps for his country, has scored a remarkable 36 goals and provided four assists in 41 appearances in all competitions for the Bundesliga champions so far this season.
Lewandowski, who arrived at the Allianz Arena back in the summer of 2014 following his move from German rivals Borussia Dortmund, has netted 146 goals in just 188 games overall for the club.
The report claims the forward’s representatives are sounding out top European potential suitors this summer, with the player looking to test himself outside of Germany football ahead of the 2018-19 campaign, and The Blues will be in the market for a new prolific striker.
Rivals Liverpool and Manchester City are also expected to be interested in the Poland star’s services, but Lewandowski’s agent, Pini Zahavi, is understood to be pursuing a deal to lure him to Stamford Bridge instead.
Lewandowski is contracted at Bayern until June 2021 and is valued at around £70m.
