Both Premier League stars had the chance to strut their stuff at Stamford Bridge, But they failed to make an impact in west London and were sold to Roma and Wolfsburg respectively.
However, the transfers have proved to be bad business for Chelsea with both players developing into superstars.
Salah has been a standout performer for Liverpool this term and De Bruyne has been instrumental in Manchester City’s title charge.
Klopp, however, says it was tough for the duo to make an impact at Chelsea given the Blues’ then highly established first-team squad.
“He was a kid when he came to Chelsea,” Klopp told Channel 4 news when asked about Salah.
“And Chelsea had a squad that was unbelievable so it was really difficult.
“Kevin de Bruyne didn’t play in that squad, that’s a lot.
“I think we all agree Jose Mourinho is a fantastic manager so sometimes things are like that.
“So it doesn’t work, step aside try again and you can still succeed and that’s exactly what happened with Mohamed.
“To be player of the year already is an outstanding achievement.
“But to be it in a season with all these other players around, when De Bruyne plays the season he had, David Silva, Leroy Sane.”

While also there is a defeat to Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium this season, and Chelsea supporters are not happy whatsoever that Oliver has been given the nod to take the match.
