According to Spanish football journalist Guillem Balague, European champions Real Madrid have shifted their transfer focus from Chelsea’s Eden Hazard to Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah.
Egyptian wide-man Salah made his return to the Premier League last summer, after Liverpool splashed out a fee that could eventually rise to 50 million Euro to bring the former Chelsea man in from Serie A outfit AS Roma.
And he has certainly not taken long to settle back into the rigours of the English game, having already popped up with an incredible 43 goals across all competitions to this point in the campaign.
Salah’s latest pair of goals came during his side’s 5-2 victory over the Egyptian’s former club AS Roma in the first-leg of the Champions League semi-final tie between the sides on Tuesday night, with the star of the 25-year-old having continued its incredible rise in the days since.
As per a report from Sky Sports’ Guillem Balague, though, if Liverpool do, as expected, advance to the final of the Champions League and meet Real Madrid (who downed Bayern Munich 2-1 in their own semi-final in Bavaria last night), then Los Blancos will use the buildup to the clash to push the story that Salah would be the ideal ‘galactico’ addition to the club’s ranks this summer.
Balague also explains that Chelsea’s Eden Hazard had been Real’s no.1 target up until recently, but that the Spanish champions have very much switched their attentions to Salah of late, due to him being ‘the best around’:
If RM meet LFC in the CL final, Spanish media, incentivated by inside the Real camp, will suggest Salah could be the perfect galactico. Till very recently the target was Hazard. But Real always try to sign the best around. And that's why they win even when they shouldn't
