Chelsea are considering Monaco boss Leonardo Jardim as their new manager this summer, with the relatively well-connected Duncan Castles of Yahoo Sport writing as much yesterday.
To be honest, there’s not too much to read into in this report. Obviously Chelsea will be considering every top manager not already managing an unattainably high level.
Jardim may be the best man for the job, and he has experience managing under the influence of a Russian oligarch already.
Jardim has done a very impressive job at Monaco, building at first a very defensively strong team and then a dynamic attacking one. All that while losing two or three of his best players every summer.
It’s an impressive CV, and he’s a rising manager who is probably ready for his shot at a top club – if Chelsea can be considered that anymore.
And perhaps Jardim will be able to show us what the trick to getting Tiemoue Bakayoko playing is?
