The Chelsea fans are eager for Roman Abramovich to fund a squad overhaul this summer. The Blues have really struggled this season, and big changes will be needed if they want to stand a chance of winning the league next season.
One area that has been particularly poor this season is the attack. Antonio Conte’s forwards are misfiring, and even Eden Hazard isn’t at his best. This summer, then, bringing in a new forward makes sense.
Fortunately, one could be available in the form of Marcus Rashford, who is rated at £45 million by Transfer Markt. Though perhaps a pipedream, the Englishman – according to the Mirror – isn’t happy with his mixed involvement at Old Trafford, and so his future looks uncertain at present.
Our landlord thinks that a move to Stamford Bridge could be brilliant for Chelsea, and particularly Eden Hazard.
Hazard is one of Chelsea’s most positive players, and far too often, he’s surrounded by negativity. Pedro and Willian often look to dribble and pass sideways or backwards, and rarely do they look to drive at defences.
Rashford, meanwhile, is in the same mould as Hazard. He’s always looking to break past defences and fire towards goal, and that has been reflected by his decent goalscoring record over the last few years.
Not to mention, the arrival of a player like Rashford would put the pressure on Chelsea’s Belgian superstar, and that can only have a positive impact.
