Antonio Conte is waiting to be sacked by the club.
That is the opinion of former Blues captain Dennis Wise, who believes the Italian has lost his enthusiasm.
The Stamford Bridge outfit have endured a tough season after failing to protect their Premier League crown.
Manchester City disposed them of their title yesterday, after West Brom shocked Manchester United at Old Trafford.
Chelsea, on the other hand, have suffered desperately this season and have crashed out of the top four.
They sit seven points behind Tottenham in the Premier League and look destined to play Europa League next season.
Italian boss Conte has come under huge pressure and several reports have suggested that he will be axed at the end of the season.
And former skipper Wise believes the 48-year-old is waiting to be sacked.
“Look at his persona, the way he comes across he looks like the season is done and they haven’t done what they’re supposed to do,” Wise said.
“From a Chelsea person it is sad to see that – I want to see a big smile on his face.
“It seems like he is waiting for the moment [to be sacked].
“He keeps saying ‘I’m trying my best… this is the situation, we try for the fans’ but it’s the same tone.
“It’s the same downness – the disappointing thing is it seems like he’s waiting [to be sacked].”
