Amid talk of Max Allegri or Luis Enrique potentially succeeding Antonio Conte at Chelsea, a third name, according to France Football, is on the Blues’ list.
The French magazine have a ‘managerial’ special out this week, as they look at all the different destinations for some of the most wanted managers around Europe, which includes Laurent Blanc.
Yet to accept a new job, and it isn’t through a lack of offers, since leaving Paris Saint-Germain two years ago, the 52-year-old could return to management in the summer, and Chelsea is one of the likeliest landing spots for him.
France Football explain Blanc would only leave the golfing greens for an ‘ambitious’ project, which Roman Abramovich could provide.
Furthermore, Chelsea ‘aren’t hiding their interest’ in the former Manchester United defender, as he becomes an increasingly viable option as time goes by.
To us, he seems like the Stamford Bridge club’s plan C after Allegri and Enrique, and, like the Spaniard, he wouldn’t require any compensation since he’s currently without a club.
Chelsea want two Real Madrid stars in return for Hazard
Chelsea want a couple of players in return for Eden Hazard if they are to sell the forward to Real Madrid this summer, according to reports.
Zinedine Zidane is keen to bring Hazard to the Bernabeu this summer with rumours that Gareth Bale could leave the club if the coach remains at the club.
Spanish publication Don Balon claims that the west London side want midfielder Dani Ceballos as well as Bale if they are to do a deal for the Belgium international.
Florentino Perez and other Real Madrid chiefs are understood to be debating whether the deal would be beneficial to the Spanish giants as some think Hazard’s worth is less than Bale and Ceballos combined.
Bale’s agent Jonathan Barnett appears to have out the brakes on the Welsh international moving anywhere, including Manchester United and Liverpool, who he has also been linked with.
“Gareth is a Real Madrid player and loves Real Madrid and Real Madrid love Gareth,” Barnett told ESPN FC. “All this talk about leaving is written by reporters who have no idea what is going on and who need to write something and don’t care if it is true or not.”
