Robert Lewandowksi is eager to leave Bayern Munich this summer and has instructed his agent to reach out to Chelsea and three other European giants, according to reports.
The Polish striker leads the Bundesliga scoring charts with 26 goals in as many appearances, twice as many as his nearest challenger, while he has also netted five times in the Champions League.
However, there have long been reports that he is growing restless at the Allianz Arena and wants to test himself in another country.
And now L’Equipe report that Lewandowski had tasked his agent with finding him a new club, with four European giants in his sights.
The 29-year-old has employed infamous agent Pini Zahavi with the primary purpose of sealing a transfer, and he has already made contact with Chelsea, PSG and Real Madrid.
There is a fourth as yet unknown club also in the mix, though PSG appear to be favourites if they can first sell Edinson Cavani in order to fund a move for Lewandowski.
Chelsea, likewise, are already well stocked up front and would need to offload Alvaro Morata or Olivier Giroud before moving for Lewandowski; Morata has recently been linked with a return to Juventus.
Real Madrid have long been linked with a move for the Bayern forward, with Karim Benzema struggling enormously in front of goal – he has netted just eight times in all competitions.
Lewandowski – who is keen to see talks ramp up – is likely to command a transfer fee in excess of £60m and Bayern are under no pressure to sell, with the striker tied to the club until 2021, which could prompt a massive bidding war this summer.
Willian speaks out on future amid rumours he could replace Martial at Man Utd
Chelsea star Willian has confirmed that he will still be at the club next season.
Willian has scored 44 goals in 229 appearances since joining Chelsea back in 2013 but the forward has consistently been linked with a move to Manchester United since Jose Mourinho took over the reins at Old Trafford.
The Brazilian greatly enjoyed his time under Mourinho, winning the 2014/15 Premier League title and lifting the League Cup trophy in the same season.
Reports suggest United are considering a move to replace Anthony Martial with Willian in the summer but the Chelsea man insists that he is happy at Stamford Bridge.
‘I like to play for Chelsea,’ he said. ‘On the pitch I want to do my best always to fight until the last minute. To do my best for this club. To continue to win titles because this club deserves always to win titles.
‘I think we have to continue to improve for next season.
‘To improve ourselves. To think about what we did well, what we did not so well and to try to make something different next season.’
Willian conceded that Manchester City have ‘great’ players but believes Chelsea will be ready to challenge Pep Guardiola’s side for the Premier League title next term.
‘Of course they continue to do very well this season,’ the Brazil international said.
‘Last season they did well as well. They have a great team. Great players. Quality players.
‘But the Premier League is very difficult to say that one team is going to dominate the next few years. I don’t think so. Next season will be totally different to this season.
‘Maybe they can win again but you never know because Chelsea are going to come back stronger for sure.
‘You also have Liverpool, you have Tottenham, you have Manchester United, Arsenal — a lot of teams that can win the Premier League.’
