CHELSEA have offered Eden Hazard a bumper new deal to see off Real Madrid’s interest, reports in Spain suggest.
Real Madrid fancy luring Hazard to the Bernabeu in the summer transfer window as they plot a revamp of their attack.
According to Spanish publication Don Balon, Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is desperate to avoid losing the Belgium international.
The Blues have been in talks with Hazard over a contract extension but he is stalling on putting pen to paper.
And it is claimed Abramovich has now slapped a £15million-per-season deal on the table.
However, Don Balon claim the Chelsea bigwig’s intervention might not be enough.
Hazard is reportedly eager for a new challenge as he bids to challenge Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo for the Ballon d’Or.
The 27-year-old is currently under contract at Stamford Bridge until 2020.
Speaking earlier this week, Hazard opened the door to a move away from Chelsea.
“I still have two years left on my contract,” he said. “I feel very good over here. The fans love me, my family enjoys life over here. We will see.
“In football anything can happen. But in football nothing can happen too. Every year they talk about Real or PSG. And when I want to change clubs, I will. But at the moment I’m good where I am.”
