Conte’s vote of confidence

08.00: Antonio Conte has asked for a public vote of confidence from the Chelsea board in an attempt to stave off rumours that he will be sacked.

“I’d like to have a statement to support against this speculation,” the 48-year-old said.

“Maybe I’d like that the club prepare a statement to tell the media, ‘I trust in his job, I trust in his work’.

“I’m giving all of myself for this club.”

Enrique wants Reus

07.45: Luis Enrique has reportedly told Chelsea he wants the Blues to sign Marco Reus from Borussia Dortmund if he takes over from Antonio Conte.

The ex-Barcelona boss is favourite for the Blues job, having been on sabbatical since the end of last season.

And Spanish outlet Don Balon claim he has already begun making transfer demands of his would-be club, telling them he wants to bring in Reus from Dortmund.

It is said the Germany international is being line-up as a potential replacement for Eden Hazard who is being linked with a summer move to Real Madrid.

Fabregas management plans

07.30: Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas has admitted he has plans to enter into management once his playing days are over.

“At this stage I would say that I want to get into management,” he told Sky Sports’ Soccer AM.

“In life anything can happen though, everything can change in your mind.

“I am still feeling very good, very young, I think I can play for many more years, so it’s not something I feel I want to do straight away.

“But in the future I would like to try.”
