Antonio Conte has revealed that David Luiz has been struggling with a fresh injury problem after he missed Chelsea FC’s 3-0 loss to Bournemouth on Wednesday night.
The Brazilian defender has picked up an ankle injury and is now working hard to try and get back fit for the Blues as quickly as possible.
It turned out being an evening to forget for Chelsea FC on Wednesday night when they were thrashed 3-0 in front of their home fans by Eddie Howe’s team at Stamford Bridge.
Andreas Christensen is also now injured and Conte was asked for the latest information on David Luiz after he was left out of the squad for Wednesday’s game.
Speaking at his post-match news conference at Stamford Bridge, Conte said of David Luiz: “I don’t know, he had a problem in his ankle. Today he started a training session with a physical coach.”
Conte will now have to try and rally his team as they bid to try and get back to winning ways in the Premier League when they travel to Watford on Monday night.
The west London side are currently fourth in the Premier League table but just two points ahead of fifth-placed Tottenham Hotspur as the race for Champions League qualification hots up this term.
Chelsea FC also have the small matter of a Champions League last 16 clash against FC Barcelona later this month.
