Jamie Redknapp has talked up Chelsea forward Pedro Rodriguez as a proven “match-winner”.
The defending Premier League champions suffered a 2-1 loss to Arsenal in the first leg of the League Cup semi-final at The Emirates on Wednesday night.
Pedro provided an assist for Eden Hazard’s opening goal before Arsenal duo Nacho Monreal and Granit Xhaka netted deflected strikes either side of half-time.
The Spanish winger has netted five goals and has made four assists in 29 games in the Premier League this season to help Chelsea challenge for a top-four spot.
Pedro has been a favourite under Antonio Conte following his vital contribution to their Premier League title success last term.
Former Liverpool and Tottenham midfielder Redkanpp shed light on why he is such a huge admirer of the Chelsea winger.
“I’m a big fan of this guy, he’s a match winner when he’s on form,” Redknapp told Sky Sports.
Pedro moved to Chelsea from La Liga giants Barcelona in a £21m deal in the 2016 summer transfer window.
The Spain international was part of the Chelsea team that won the title with two games to spare last term.
The Blues will take on La Liga giants Barcelona in the Champions League last 16 as Pedro prepares to return to his former club.
Chelsea will take on Newcastle United in the FA Cup fourth round on Sunday.
