Porto striker eyed

08.40: Chelsea have made an inquiry for Porto striker Moussa Marega, according to reports by French outlet Foot Mercato.

The 26-year-old has been in fine form for the Portuguese side this season since returning from a loan spell with Vitoria de Guimaraes.

And his 12 goals in 15 league appearances are said to have caught the attention of Chelsea scouts who have prompted the Blues to sign him.

The Mali international is said to have a £35m release clause and is also on Manchester United’s radar.

Luiz talks underway

08.00: Manchester United have reportedly re-opened transfer talks with Chelsea for David Luiz.

Caught Offside claim Jose Mourinho has begun talks with his former club about a January move for the 30-year-old.

Negotiations are reportedly in the early stages and a fee is yet to be agreed between the two clubs.

But the deal could be in jeopardy due to the recent spat between Mourinho and Antonio Conte which is said to be making talks more complicated.

Cahill lauds Barkley

07.30: Gary Cahill has claimed Ross Barkley is a phenomenal signing for Chelsea – especially because they managed to get him for just £15m.

“Phenomenal,” Cahill said in reaction to Barkley’s move to Stamford Bridge.

“I think it is a great signing. It is a bargain. Looking at this market, in this day and age, it is a snip for a player like him.

“I’ve played with him and trained with him and I know what the boy is capable of, so does everyone else.”
