Eden Hazard decision
06:15: Chelsea have made a major decision over the future of Eden Hazard.
The Belgium international is wanted by both Premier League leaders Manchester City and La Liga champions Real Madrid.
It was suggested City would be willing to spend of £200m to tempt Hazard to the Etihad Stadium, despite already running away with the league title.
But Antonio Conte’s side are adamant that they will not sell their star player to a Premier League rival, according to the Telegraph.
No matter what the fee is, the Blues are fully against strengthening their domestic rivals.
Olivier Giroud crunch talks
05:45: Chelsea are expected to re-open negotiations with Arsenal today regarding the sale Olivier Giroud, according to Sky Sports expert Guillem Balague.
Balague says that Chelsea had an initial offer of £20million turned down by the Gunners.
Last night reports circulated that Arsenal had settled on a £15m agreement for their French forward, but Balague believes that is not the case.
“I read Giroud could go to Chelsea for £15m but I believe #CFC last offer was £20m and was rejected by #AFC,” Balague wrote on Twitter.
“No negotiations took place after that rejection.
“But tomorrow contacts could be renewed.”
Antonio Conte blast
05:15: Antonio Conte probably under-estimated how “financially responsible” Chelsea have been run as a club.
Those are the thoughts of former Liverpool managing director Christian Purslow.
Conte has been very vocal in voicing his frustrations over the club’s transfer policy.
And Purslow thinks Conte took Chelsea’s transfer policy for granted when he took over.
“The issue probably going on behind the scenes is that I suspect Conte came to Chelsea expecting and wanting to conquering the world,” Purslow told Sky Sports’ The Debate.
“He sees himself as one of the finest managers in the world.
“He went thinking ‘Me and Roman Abramovich equals guaranteed success’.”
Fernando Llorente option
04:45: Chelsea’s transfer merry-go-round completed the full circle last night as they were linked with Tottenham striker Fernando Llorente.
The Blues lost out on signing the Spaniard in the summer as he opted for a move to Wembley over Stamford Bridge.
Antonio Conte has been desperate to sign a striker this month after Alvaro Morata’s failure to hit top form.
The Blues have been linked with moves for Peter Crouch, Andy Carroll, Ashley Barnes, Edin Dzeko and Olivier Giroud already in this transfer window.
But as the clock to deadline days counts down, the story has taken another twist as Llorente is now considered a viable option by the Blues, according to the Sun.
