Chelsea want Edin Dzeko to join the Blues by Monday.
Antonio Conte has been heavily linked with a move for the 31-year-old Roma star in recent weeks.
However, according to The Telegraph, the Blues have set a deadline on any deal with Roma.
Chelsea want Dzeko to sign by Monday, otherwise Conte will move on to other targets.
The Blues boss has no interest in waiting until deadline day on Wednesday to agree the deal.
The Telegraph add that Chelsea will turn their attention to Arsenal’s Olivier Giroud if an agreement with Dzeko cannot be reached in time.
Riyad Mahrez should consider a transfer to Arsenal or Chelsea, Ray Parlour claims.
The Leicester star has been tipped to quit the Foxes and join a top-four club in recent months.
And Parlour reckons Mahrez should join a side playing in the Champions League, claiming Chelsea would be ideal.
“I am surprised (he’s still there),” he told The Debate. “Mahrez would fit into a lot of sides.
“I know my old side was mentioned, Arsenal, but that’s the sort of side he’s got to look at now, he’s got to look at the top six.
“I’m sure he’d improve quite a few, someone like Chelsea, who knows.”
The bookies have slashed the odds on Arsenal star Giroud heading to Chelsea.
Reports earlier this week claimed Conte wants a target man at Stamford Bridge – and Giroud fits the bill.
And bookmakers Betfair have responded by slashing Chelsea’s odds from 7/1 to 4/1 to bring the France international to west London before the January window shuts on Wednesday.
