Charlie Nicholas is tipping Alvaro Morata to score twice for Chelsea in the first leg of their League Cup semi-final clash against Arsenal on Wednesday night.
The Blues head into the game looking to get back to winning ways after the disappointment of their goalless draw with Norwich in the third round of the FA Cup on Saturday.
Morata came on as a second-half substitute at Carrow Road but was unable to break the deadlock against the Canaries.
The Spanish striker was guilty of missing numerous chances against Arsenal in the thrilling 2-2 draw in the Premier League at The Emirates last week.
Indeed, Morata has failed to score on his last three appearances in all competitions for the Blues in recent days.
However, former Arsenal star Nicholas is tipping Morata to have a big influence on the result in Wednesday night’s clash in west London.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Nicholas said: “I could see Alvaro Morata making up for his missed chances and getting a brace here, while I can also see discipline issues for a Arsenal given they don’t even seem to want to celebrate together when they’re winning.”
Morata has been in decent form since his transfer to Chelsea from Real Madrid in the summer, scoring 10 goals and making four assists in the Premier League for Antonio Conte’s men so far.
Chelsea are currently third in the Premier League table as they chase a top-four finish this term.
