Chelsea are motoring along quite nicely this season and remain in a good position to challenge for honours as we approach the midway phase of the January transfer window.
The Blues have been one of the standout teams in the Premier League over the last decade, and fans have been blessed with a huge number of talented players to feast their eyes on at Stamford Bridge as the years have ticked along.
One such player who often goes unmentioned is German star Michael Ballack, who played a key role for the Blues in the mid 2000s as they enjoyed league success.
Every Blue is a big fan of seeing German talent come to our shores, and that’s why we think Chelsea could potentially go one better than Ballack and make a move for Schalke star Max Meyer, who has been building quite the reputation for himself over the Bundesliga.
Meyer looks to be a top talent, and remains at a young enough age where he has plenty of time to develop and turn into a genuine world class midfielder.
Capable of scoring the spectacular while also being able to operate in any role in the centre of the park make him an attractive proposition for any onlooking clubs, and Chelsea manager Antonio Conte could well get one over on his rivals by signing Meyer this January.
A top young player, Meyer is definitely going to be a star for years to come, and the Premier League – and Chelsea in particular – could seriously benefit from having his talent on board.
