Eden Hazard has revealed that he is a huge admirer of Andreas Christensen at Chelsea and is tipping the Chelsea starlet to become one of the best defenders in the world.
The young Denmark international has been earning plenty of praise for his performances for Chelsea under Antonio Conte this season after breaking into the first team following back to back loan spells at Borussia Monchengladbach.
Christensen has been keeping the likes of David Luiz out of the Chelsea team in recent weeks as he looks to establish himself as one of the Blues’ top defenders.
Hazard has now revealed that he has been tracking Christensen’s progress for some time and the Belgium midfielder is predicting big things for the 21-year-old in the future.
Speaking in an interview with Sky Sports, Hazard said: “Andreas Christensen is still young and to play in the defence for such a big club is not easy for a young player.
“I watched him a lot two years ago because he was playing with Thorgan [Hazard] at Gladbach – he’s very good.
“In the future he will be one of the best in the world, hopefully at Chelsea!”
Both Hazard and Christensen will be hoping to feature for Chelsea when the Blues return to Premier League action on Boxing Day with a home clash against Brighton and Hove Albion.
Conte’s side will then host Stoke City at Stamford Bridge on 30 December as they look to try and climb the table and keep pace with Manchester City at the top.
