Eden Hazard helped Chelsea to a 3-1 victory against Huddersfield last night.
He then donated his Man of the Match trophy to team-mate Willian, who was also taking part in the post-Huddersfield interview with BT Sport.
Chelsea comfortably saw off the Premier League minnows 3-1 thanks to goals from Tiemoue Bakayoko, Willian and Pedro.
The win keeps them third in the table, four points above fourth-placed Burnley.
But they are still a long way behind Pep Guardiola’s City and even boss Antonio Conte this week dismissed his sides chances of retaining their crown.
The two were in hysterics when asked if they could catch Manchester City.
They could not contain their laughter for some time.
And Hazard’s reaction showed that the feeling is similar in all of the Chelsea camp.
When asked by BT Sport if the Blues could catch City, Willian began to reply with a stock answer, saying: “We know it is difficult. it is 14 points (to Manchester City).
But Hazard interrupted him: “It is 11 now – we are back in it,” before bursting into laughter alongside his team-mate.
The Brazilian responded with “we will fight until the end,” but Hazard continued to laugh, prompting suggestions that they feel their title defence is over.
Willian has only started a handful of Premier League matches this season and Hazard was clearly delighted with his performance.
So when the reporter tried to give the Belgium international the MOTM trophy, he insists that Willian takes it home instead for his goal and two assists.
“No, no, no, you (Willian) have it,” Hazard said.
Hazard then took the MOTM trophy off Willian to award it to him.
