Man Utd’s Eden Hazard swoop
05:00: Jose Mourinho is reportedly plotting a stunning deal to bring Eden Hazard from Chelsea to Manchester United.
Hazard has found himself continually linked with a move to Real Madrid and is Zinedine Zidane’s top target.
The Belgium international has seen his form pick up in recent weeks, as the Blues have got their campaign on track after a rocky start to their title defence.
The Sun claim Mourinho sees the diminutive playmaker as the ‘missing piece of the jigsaw’.
The report suggests United will stump up a British record of £90million to claw the 26-year-old away from Chelsea.
It is also suggested that Mourinho is confident he can pip Real and Paris Saint-Germain to Hazard’s services.
David Luiz Newcastle loan
04:30: Newcastle are lining up a shock January loan move for Chelsea’s David Luiz.
The Brazilian has fallen out with boss Antonio Conte and been completely frozen out of the squad.
Reports circulated yesterday that Arsenal would offer the 30-year-old a way out of Stamford Bridge in a £30million deal.
But now apparently Rafael Benitez is trying to be reunited with Luiz, who he managed while in charge of Chelsea during the 2012/13 season.
According to the Sun, Benitez still has a strong relationship with the defender.
Antonio Conte challenge
04:00: Antonio Conte has set Michy Batshuayi what he regards as a “simple” challenge in order to break into the first team more often.
Batshuayi faces an uncertain future at Stamford Bridge after being snubbed in the starting line-up in Chelsea’s last two games despite Alvaro Morata also being rested.
He is set to be recalled to the starting XI for this evening’s Carabao Cup quarter-final match against Bournemouth.
And Conte has told Batshuayi exactly what he must do to earn more minutes.
“He has to show me that he’s better than Morata, or than Hazard,” Conte said. “It’s very simple.
“But don’t forget that Michy, this season, is playing more than last season. Last season he didn’t play.”
