Antonio Conte is “desperate” to sign a striker as back-up to Alvaro Morata at Chelsea in the January transfer window, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Mirror is claiming that the Italian manager is determined to try and bolster his squad in the mid-season transfer window as the Blues try and climb the Premier League table.
The same story says that Conte is particularly keen to add another striker to his squad in the new year as the Blues look to compete for major honours.
And the article also says that Conte has made it clear to Chelsea that the Blues will have to splash the cash in the January transfer window.
Chelsea have made something of a mixed start to the Premier League season and the Blues don’t appear to have any hope of winning the title this term, with Manchester City out of sight at the top of the table.
The west London side are bound to be linked with a host of players in the coming days and weeks as the January transfer window gives the Blues a chance to bolster their squad.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are currently preparing for their home clash against Stoke City in the Premier League on Saturday.
