Antonio Conte and Danny Drinkwater reacts to Chelsea’s 5-0 win over Stoke City

CHELSEA boss Antonio Conte has reacted to his side’s 5-0 rout against Stoke City.

The Blues piled even more pressure on Mark Hughes after goals from Antonio Rudiger, Danny Drinkwater, Pedro, Willian and Davide Zappacosta ensured they ran out comfortable winners this afternoon.

The win moves Chelsea into second place in the league due to Manchester United playing against Southampton this evening.

And Conte is pleased with the performance of his side.

“I think our performance was very positive,” he said.

“We started very well and had great desire to score.

“This type of game, if you can score early it can become easy.

“We wanted this and I’m very pleased with the performance of all my players. I’m pleased with another clean sheet.”

Conte also reflected on a very successful 2017 for his Chelsea side.

“To finish this year in this way is great for me, the players, club and fans,” he added.

“This year was fantastic.

“To win the title in England is not easy.

“To be able to do this at your first chance is great.”

Goalscorer Drinkwater also reacted to the thrashing, saying: “We’re doing well. The more wins we pick up in a row, the better it is for us.

“We managed the game well. We got off to a good start.

“I’m happy with my goal, it’s a nice feeling to score.

“We can take confidence from this into the Arsenal game – but it’s a totally different game.

“It [the title race] is not over until it’s over. So we have to keep on winning.”
